KAYLYN ZHONG

Welcome!

I’m Kaylyn, a current senior at Northview and Managing Editor-in-Chief of THE MUSE.

I’m so excited to rejoin the team this year as a second-year staffer. Originally applying for the publication in my sophomore year, I had hopes of extending my visual arts exploration into the literary fields. However, after producing and planning content for the publication, I have realized this class extends beyond just the arts. It is a learning opportunity for essential life skills, ranging from marketing and fundraising to team-building and problem-solving.

Thank you for taking the time to explore our publication! Keep scrolling to learn a little more about me.

Visual Arts

Beginning from the age of five, I have been immersed in the visual arts. It is my source of creative freedom, my unrestrained voice.

Performance Arts

More than a movement of the body, it is a form of art. I allow myself to be swept away by the music and craft a story that is purely my own.

MY FAVORITE…

  • Chocolate!!! A piece of Dove or Godiva chocolate never fails to put me in a good mood. I absolutely love sharing triple fudge brownies and chocolate chip cookies with all my friends and family.

  • For visual arts, I absolutely adore the work of Wanjin Kim and Izumi Kogahara. My all-time favorite classical piece is Chopin's Ballade No. 1 in G Minor. Some of my favorite musical artists at the moment include Chase Atlantic, Dvwn, and Jannabi.

  • I absolutely love taking a good stroll outside to clear my head. Especially when the autumn breezes begin to cool the lingering summer weather a little, the temperature is just perfect. Going on late-night drives with the windows rolled down also helps me reflect and find that inner peace.
