I’m Joline Tran (she/her), and I’m a current senior. This year will be my second (and last T^T) year in THE MUSE, and I’m so honored to be serving as the Graphic Design Editor-in-Chief!

This year, we are pushing for quality: we recently transferred our website to Squarespace, and we are aiming to keep a more consistent page. Alongside that, we’ve been emphasizing more on centralizing our annual literary arts magazine to fit our selected theme (Vestigial), and we hope to create— not just the best magazine— but the most cohesive and put-together magazine we’ve ever created.

Funny story, I used to hate the idea of bullet journaling. It wasn’t until quarantine that I discovered my love for it (and the #bujogram community), and now, I’m proud that bullet journaling is what got me into lit mag and is a part of my personality! My *inactive bujogram HAHA!

Though Lit Mag is heavy in the visual and literary arts, ironically, I believe I have a stronger performing arts background haha! I’ve been playing the piano since I was 5 and the violin since I was 11, and I dabble a bit into the other fields of performing arts like public speaking and drama. I love sharing my passion for music such as teaching piano and performing at senior living centers!

Though this is a skill I hope to get better at, over the two years I’ve been in lit mag, I picked up digital art! :) I also love taking photos (of food and when we’re on vacation hehe)!

I have a terribly unhealthy addiction to bubble tea HAHA! If you ever need boba recommendations, I’m your girl ;) My recent faves have been the Xing Fu Tang, One Zo, and Tea Top (I travel to Doraville for this luxury, unfortunately)!
I’m also obsessed with every. single. one of Chopin’s Études. Tschaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence is addicting to play and listen.
I lived in Georgia my entire life, but have visited around half of the states in the US so far! When I turn 18, I hope to go solo-traveling to all the countries in Scandinavia! I’m also dying to visit Vietnam and Cambodia!
My brother is my pet. He doesn’t act like a dog or a cat (he’s worse, duh), and he plays too much Valorant. He goes to IA *sigh* and is taller than me :(
To those confused folks, I have a cousin that goes to Northview and lives 3 houses away from me (he’s basically my pet too); stop confusing him as my brother!
