Art is something that i have always been drawn to; I was a toddler who could never stop drawing on the walls. Something that took time however, was exploring what kind of art I enjoyed the most, and I have my parents to thank for giving me the opportunity to explore my creativity. They put me into drawing and painting classes when I was little, but it just didn’t stick for me. Over the years, I have tried out a little bit of everything: crochet, jewelry, paper quilling; and right now, pottery is my favorite thing. I don’t think I’ll ever stop getting into art, I’ll always be exploring new mediums and trying a bit of everything,
I decided to join NAHS because I thought it would be a really great place to share my passion for art and meet people who have similar interests, and it has definitely lived up to my expectations. It has introduced me to so many opportunities in the art community. The meetings organized by the club have additionally introduced me to many different skills and types of art. NAHS is a commitment that I’m very glad to have made these past few years.
Being an officer has been an amazing learning experience, and rewarding in so many ways. What stands out to me the most as rewarding is being able to see other members making the most of their time in the club by taking advantage of volunteer opportunities we have set up or enjoying their time doing the activities we plan for each meeting. Witnessing the growth of a supportive artistic community that I helped create has been very fulfilling. Also, through being able to organize events, volunteer opportunities, and general meetings, as well as the personal connections I have gained though ming an officer, NAHS has sparked immense personal growth for myself.
