MY

WRITING

Mother, say I’m

slick with it. Smooth, butter-child. Like spine to clavicle, I’m

strewn, tendons and all. Gushing through those veins, crisp, not sharp. Grateful

it’s in my blood. That being a couple things: For

  • Golden, hued, wheat, grass, that feeling when a

  • burn erupts when you scrape rope too fast. grasp it loosely

  • and pull up. Save a life. Paint ribbons on your back. That

  • constructed construct, let it protect you with

  • all its:

Might. Might: Definition

i   n. Strong, beautiful woman, slay bear in wild, Dear~

ii   v. Might I fancy a trip out of solitude this morning?

You jest too much, Mother.

WHY LITMAG??

I first joined litmag because I love writing and all literary expression. Litmag is the embodiment of all things writing, art, and creative. I would absolutely encourage all to join!

What do I hope to gain from this class?

What I hope to gain would be a community. Communities of writing where people can support each other, give constructive criticism, and bounce ideas off each other is my ideal. So far, that goal has been more than reached.

~ MORE INFO ABOUT ME ~

  • 1- I freakin love reading. Any genre is fine, but my current obsession is with memoirs. Especially Ocean Vuong’s On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous. It’s so amazing- the imagery, the language, it’s absolutely beautiful. My favorite book is The Life of Pi. The sheer amount of tears I spilled over that novel…

2- I am a wide consumer of a variety of tv shows (aka I spend an abnormal amount of my time staring mindlessly at a computer). Romance? Sure, lemme try it out. Fantasy? I love fantasy and action to death. Horror? That’s where I might draw the line, but if you rec it I’ll at least give it a try.

  • In case you couldn’t tell from the beginning, I have a lovely cat named Kyra. If I were to describe her in 3 adjectives, it would be: vicious, self-centered, and adorable.

  • My favorite movie is Little Miss Sunshine. I watched it over quarantine with my brother and had many laughs. I was also crying. There were a lot of emotions involved.

  • After hating pineapple on pizza for a good 15 years of my life, I finally gave it a try again. Needless to say, I am now probably the most avid advocate of pineapple on pizza.
