Northview High School’s Literary Arts Magazine
THE MUSE
THE MUSE is an award-winning hybrid publication that compiles student art and writing into an annual magazine. Founded in 2002, this class was established on the principles of escaping the structure of school and creating an environment where we can explore the arts and find our voices. We focus on composing creative writing and showcasing the work of Northview’s talented artists, writers, designers, and many more in celebration of their creativity.
3x Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Crown Award
“The Muse’s website is a visual and verbal feast for readers. There is so much rich content a viewer can spend hours exploring it.”

BUBBLES - VOLUME XXIII (2025)
Inhale wide-eyed, puff out your cheeks, and blow. Funnel your breath through the small plastic ring and expand the soapy water—are you ready to let it go? Watch as the iridescent water glimmers in the sun, as the amorphous blob floats through the space between here and there, now and never.
Like bubbles, our memories of our youth are delicate and fleeting.
Like bubbles, our memories shift and change in new light.
And then they burst.
A sudden dissipation of what was, until it exists only in memory. But look—how those memories are shimmering and radiant in your mind’s eye, how they have shaped you.
Because our youth is transient, yet never eludes us. Why does it remain within us? How do we envision it now?
Watching as the bubbles float away, watching even as they burst—what do you see in them?
Colors of happiness or sorrow, nostalgia or regret. A miniature world in iridescent, transparent form, reflecting back new hues of old moments.
In a time where growing up is paramount and youth is fleeting, it is important to take time to nurture the fond memories that persist in our minds. As you read, we encourage you to hone in on your past—to feel that childlike wonder, to let the beauty of something as simple as a bubble become something more. Something elusive, wondrous, sorrowful, radiant, and, like people, oh-so-very fragile
